COVID in College: How the Coronavirus Pandemic Has Taken a Toll on the Mental Health of Students (December 2020)

In my MND 406 class (Magazine Article Writing), my final project was to spend the semester researching and cultivating a long-form magazine article. I chose to write about the increase in depression, anxiety, stress, and more within college students, and how these issues correlate with aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, I created an engagement plan for my article, allowing me to reach a significant amount of views on the piece. By tying in my interview skills, researching abilities, and overall writing technique, I was able to produce an article that brought awareness to the mental health of college students in the newfound age of coronavirus.

For my sorority, Delta Delta Delta, I regularly designed and produced graphics and videos to promote and share the sorority's sisterhood and philanthropy on social media and at recruitment events. I used Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere for the projects.

Fabric Magazine Project (December 2019)

I was also tasked with selecting an advertisement that fit the beat of the publication.

The Simplea Company Campaign (November 2019)

I created promotional graphics and mockups for a senior Whitman capstone project, The Simplea Company, a pea protein-based salad dressing. I used Adobe Photoshop to create the mockups and Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and bottle labels.

St. Jude Campaign Project (November 2019)

In my VIS 207 class (Introduction to Graphic Design), I was assigned to create a campaign for a non-profit event. I chose the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer and created a poster and gif for the assignment. I used Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator for the poster and Adobe PhotoShop for the gif.

Confucius Branding Project (October 2019)

In my VIS 207 class (Introduction to Graphic Design), I was tasked with creating a logo and stationary for a historical figure. I was assigned the Chinese philosopher Confucius and shaped an entire brand around his philosophies and beliefs. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the final pdfs and Adobe PhotoShop to create the mockup.
